An Escape Plan follow up their Living Together EP, the title track of which IKEA chose to soundtrack their 2013 ad campaign, enjoying over one million YouTube views, with ‘Coastlines’.

It’s accompanied by a video that’s deliberately shot to give a sense of space. Filmed in the fields between Earls Barton and Ecton, Northamptonshire, the aerial footage taken by Coptermotion allows the viewer to both step outside of the song and fixate on its subject matter.

The band have also confirmed their first run of UK tour dates –

21 JUNE: ROADMENDER, NORTHAMPTON

24 JUNE: THE SHACKLEWELL ARMS, LONDON – Eat Your Own Ears FREE SHOW. RSVP HERE.

04 JULY: THE CASTLE HOTEL MANCHESTER

07 JULY: NATION OF SHOPKEEPERS, LEEDS

New ‘COASTLINES’ Video –

Craig Brown formed An Escape Plan, and named the project appropriately, after the attic conversion he undertook that allowed him to escape and create music. He was previously a member of Medium 21 and later the Mercury Music Prize nominated Maps. The rest of AEP also partake in other projects such as The All New Adventures Of Us and Red Kite. The band have met nearly every Tuesday in Northampton for several years and the result is the very special Songs of Scarecrows album, recorded last Christmas.

‘Ghosts’ was the first track to be released from their debut long player. Reminiscent of The Shins, Bright Eyes and The Lemonheads, it was followed by the moodily powerful yet lushly arranged alt-country rumbler ‘Living Together’ that evoked a spirit of Nick Cave, with vocals that some likened to Regina Spektor.

The album is available now via download and limited edition, numbered CD via http://www.anescapeplan.co.uk.
